Creating a Safe Church
At Celebration Church, safety is not just something we talk about. It is something we intentionally build into our culture, systems, training, and leadership practices so that everyone can grow, connect, and belong in a safe environment.
We are committed to creating a church where people are protected, respected, and cared for well.
Our safety and care framework includes:
- A Safer Churches Officer and team who receive and investigate concerns, and help ensure all safety matters are appropriately addressed.
- Quarterly Connect Leader Training that reinforces our policies, procedures, and culture of healthy relationships and accountability.
- Safer Church Training for all volunteers serving in any ministry area.
- Ongoing training and development for our Kids and Youth teams, including safeguarding policies, procedures, and team culture.
- Clear guidelines for ministry practice, especially in areas involving minors and interactions between genders.
- Conflict resolution processes that help us navigate tension and restore relationships in a healthy way.
- Prayer and prophetic ministry guidelines to ensure care, wisdom, and accountability in ministry contexts.
- Compliance with all relevant government requirements, including mandatory reporting obligations.
- Senior leadership accountability through denominational covering, board oversight, and external input.
- An annual independent financial audit conducted by a third-party body to ensure transparency and integrity in all financial stewardship.
These structures are not designed to create fear or unnecessary restriction. They exist because we value people, honour trust, and are committed to stewarding every person well. Healthy structure helps create a healthy culture, and a healthy culture helps people thrive.
